( SDGW b Rhynie - Essie. A policeman in Edinburgh he enlisted there on 14th May 1915 and trained at Caterham, Surrey and then posted to the Scots Guards Reserve.
George was transfered to the 2nd Batt and arrived at Le Havre, France on 10th Aug 1916 and on to the Guards Division Base Depot at nearby Harfleur.
He moved to the front line on 19th September and was killed, Missing in Action, six days later during the Battle of Morval.
He was qualified as a Bomber )
